Founder

Akili Shine is the founder and creative director of Robeson Parks, a Los Angeles based, full-service film and television production and multimedia company.

An award-winning multidisciplinary creative with over 15 years of industry experience working with start-up, boutique, and global brands, in creative/producer/directorial roles. Akili has led creative and strategic teams working across lifestyle, sports, entertainment, and technology with core skills in digital marketing, content creation, brand creative and development, strategic ideation, art direction, and film/video production and post-production.

Akili has produced for a wide range of genres, including documentaries and a variety of non- scripted content. His television track record includes consulting and creating projects for MTV, BET, Spike TV, ESPN, FOX Sports, the El Rey Network, the History Channel, Quibi, and Disney. Akili has produced The 50 Years of Star Trek for the History Channel, directed several documentaries for ESPN’s Grantland, and recently worked in partnership with Steve Harvy’s East 112 Production as Producer/Creative Consultant for late-night talk show BET’s Mancave.

From overseeing entire creative processes from briefing to final production, his extensive client portfolio encompasses many high profile companies and brands such as Rally Health, Lincoln Motors, Nike, Heineken, LVMH, Uber, Chanel, Puma, and the NBA. Some of Akili’s current projects include developing and producing on-air promotions, Cast and Crew interviews, featurettes, and unique promotional content for Disney’s biggest shows, including Modern Family, Homeland, Empire, 24, American Horror Story, and This Is Us. Akili has worked to bring high-quality localized content to Disney’s International SVOD marketing partners.
